Bao Vang of WBAY reports local business owners have met with Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt to discuss creating an official district of Asian stores, restaurants and shops in downtown Green Bay.
The district, which has no official name yet, would be located just east of the Brown County downtown library on Bodart Street, where three Hmong businesses are already located.
A source interviewed for the story says he has received “a lot of support” for the idea from people around the state. He also says Mayor Schmitt is on board, as well.
The mayor’s office says he will share more about the city’s commitment to the project after sitting down with other municipal leaders later this week.
