Our Mission:
Engage community to strengthen neighborhoods, improve lives, enhance neighborhood character, promote homeownership, and provide housing choices.
The Groundbreaker
NeighborWorks® Green Bay celebrates a construction project that will provide new housing choices on Green Bay’s near-West side. The grass-roots community development organization will host a groundbreaking on Friday, June 13th at 10:00 A.M. in the 600 block of Mather Street. NeighborWorks Green Bay, well-known for its renovation of homes in Green Bay’s original neighborhoods, will be building a three unit townhome at the corner of Mather and Ashland. The Mather Street Townhomes will be the first “stick-built” project that the organization has undertaken in several years.
Executive director, Noel Halvorsen, says, “This project is a great way to finish our work on this block. The community seems ready for townhome development. This project adds a new housing choice for families on the near-west side.”
The project is made possible in part by a HOME Community Investment Partnership Grant from the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Green Bay and through the leadership of City Hall and the Green Bay Neighborhood Division. Permanent financing is provided by the Business Bank. Construction services are provided by Tim Halbrook Builders, Inc.
