Volunteer Opprotunity: Festival of Independence for the Latin Countries

The Hispanic Community Council is requesting your participation in the group of volunteers to carry out our “Festival of Independence for the Latin Countries.”

We need you on Sunday, September 14th. 

The times and areas to cover are as follows.

8:00 AM to 11:00 PM

10 Volunteers for the following areas: Mounting the gates / Set up of the garbage cans / Hand out bracelets to participants (vendors and presentation racks) /Hand out parking permit (vendors and presentation racks)

5:30 to 8:30 PM

*4 volunteers in the entrance area. (put bracelets and handing admission tickets)

 4:30 to 7:30 PM

7:30 to 10:00 PM

10:00 to finish

4 Volunteers for each schedule. Maintenance / cleaning of the areas. 

Ensure that the areas are clean, the trash cans are in place, remove trash bags; may be already filled.

 All volunteers will each receive a shirt with the logo of the organization.

All volunteers will be able to enjoy the festival free of charge and go to their work areas when they are due.

 All volunteers will obtain a permit to park their vehicles in the parking lot of the park.

Vehicle that does not carry the permit, will be removed from this area.

 All volunteers MUST be registered in our list, by Saturday, September 13, 2014.

Just in time for football season, join Chef Arlie Doxtator for a lesson on both traditional and not-so-traditional tailgating foods. Chef Arlie will share his techniques for both gas and charcoal grilling. Whip up simple marinades. Learn how to grill vegetables, proteins and pizza.

Home Buyer Spanish Education classes

NeighborWorks HUD Dousing Agency has a new Spanish class schedule.  In the class homebuyers learn about process of purchasing a home.  Students will learn if they are ready to be homeowners, how to manage money, understand their credit, and so much more!  Classes are also offered in English.

NeighborWorks Green Bay will be celebrating its impact on individuals, families, neighborhoods, and the Greater Green Bay Area during NeighborWorks Week, which will take place June 7-15. NeighborWorks Week is a national celebration of the impact that organizations throughout the country have on improving lives and strengthen communities.

Other activities during NeighborWorks Week will include homebuyer education classes in both English and Spanish, and a volunteer project where employees of Sherwin-Williams will be painting a property that NeighborWorks Green Bay is revitalizing.
